- Corporate Records Sun Document Filings is located in Sacramento,
California and visits the Secretary of State's office 3 times a day to retrieve
corporation documents. The
Sacramento branch is the only location copies of corporation documents can be
obtained. We can retrieve a California Corporation Certificate of Good Standing
from the Secretary of State on a routine or rush basis. In addition, we are able
to retrieve any California Corporation document on file with the Secretary of
State including copies of the Articles of Incorporation, Statement and
Designation by Foreign Corporation, Certificate of Amendment including name
change, Restated Articles, Mergers, Dissolutions, Election to wind up and
dissolve, Conversions, and retrieve a copy of a Statement of Information

allow service companies to stand and wait for document retrieval requests.

FAQ: Can you obtain records sooner then 5-7
business days? I called the state and they told me I could come in an pick up
the document immediately. I don't understand.
Answer: The Secretary of State is correct. You, as the owner of the
Corporation can obtain copies of your documents within minutes of placing the
order in person at the Corporation Records Counter in Sacramento. However, we
are a service company and the Secretary of State has policies involving services
companies because combined, service companies drop off 800-1200 retrieval
requests a day. Obviously, the Secretary of State cannot process that many
requests while service companies stand and wait for them. We feel the rule is
unfair to our clients, but unfortunately, it is their policy and we are unable
to get around it. We do our best to shave off time by dropping off your
corporate record's request right away. Once the order is completed, our runners
pick up the documents and bring them back to our office. Depending on your
choice of return method, your documents are returned as soon as possible. No
time is wasted on our part.
FAQ: What is a plain copy?
Answer: A plain document is just a photocopy of the originally filed document.
FAQ: What is a certified copy?
A certified copy includes the plain document with a certified page stapled on
top. The certified page is signed by the California Secretary of State
certifying that the document is true and correct.
FAQ: Why would I need my document certified?
Answer: If the document is needed to close a loan or escrow, in court, to obtain
insurance, open a bank account, and for many other reasons, a certified copy of
the document is usually required. We suggest that you check with the requesting
agency to clarify whether or not they need a certified copies prior to placing
your order. Doing this will save you time and money.
