Sun Document Filings can obtain California apostilles and California authentication for your notarized document, certification, or legal documents. Located in Sacramento, we provide same day apostille services and authentication for most international documents. Our service fee is $50.00 per document plus the Secretary of State fee of $26.00 ($20.00 filing fee + $6.00 counter fee).

Ready to send the document to be apostille or authentication? Please send the document, one check made payable to the Secretary of State for $26.00 (per document), and a cover letter that includes your name, mailing address, phone number that you can be reached at during the day, and for which country the Apostille is for. Please send it to Sun Document Filings, Attn: Apostille Document Unit, 1008 "S" Street, Suite C, Sacramento, CA  95811 (800)-498-2822. We can receive overnight deliveries or regular mail at the address above.

Please make sure that your document will be accepted by the Secretary of State prior to sending us your document by calling 916-653-3365 and press option #4 then #0. Sun Document Filings cannot determine if your document will be accepted for filing and we charge a service fee for delivering the document in person regardless if the document is apostilled or rejected.

The California Secretary of State provides authentication of public official signatures on documents (international certificates) to be used outside the United States of America. The country of destination determines whether an Apostille or Authentication is applied per the Hague Convention. Please check the Hague Convention list of countries to make sure your country is included prior to requesting a Hague apostille.

The most common types of documents submitted for legalization include:

Marriage licenses  Letters relating to degrees
 References and job certification  Bylaws
 Birth Certificates  Home studies
 Patent Applications  Articles of Incorporation
 School records  Powers of attorney
 Trademarks  Papers for adoption purposes
 Diplomas  Merger Agreements
Deeds of assignment  Certificates of non-marital status
 Transcripts  Certificates of Amendment
 Distributorship Agreements

These documents must be current certified copies or must have been notarized by a California Notary Public. For school records you must obtain a notarized copy of record from the high school, college, or university, etc. prior to forwarding to the Notary Public Section for authentication.
