The Secretary of State will take an average of 3-5 business days to apostille or authenticate most documents for international use in accordance with the Hague Convention. 24 HOUR RUSH OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE.

Our service fee for a routine 3-5 business days is $55.00 per document plus the Secretary of State fee of $26.00 ($20.00 filing fee + $6.00 counter fee). Our service fee for a 24 hour rush filing is $155.00 per document plus the Secretary of State fee of $26.00. Per document.

How do I start the process of obtaining an apostille or autenticatoin from the Secretary of State?

Please follow the steps below:

STEP 1: Download and Complete our ORDER FORM by clicking here. SERVICE AND STATE FEES ARE OUTLINED ON THE ORDER FORM

STEP 3: Have your document NOTARIZED OR CERTIFIED by the appropriate official. Call the CA Secretary of State at 916-653-3365 if you have questions or ar unsure if your document will be accepted.

STEP 4: Send the original notarized document AND our order form with payment to:

Please make sure that your document will be accepted by the Secretary of State prior to sending us your document by calling 916-653-3365 and press option #3. Sun Document Filings cannot determine if your document will be accepted for filing and we charge a service fee for delivering the document in person regardless if the document is apostilled or rejected.

The California Secretary of State provides authentication of public official signatures on documents (international certificates) to be used outside the United States of America. The country of destination determines whether an Apostille or Authentication is applied per the Hague Convention. Please check the Hague Convention list of countries to make sure your country is included prior to requesting a Hague apostille.
